A few weeks ago we received a call from a local business owner informing us that his building had a fire due to a lightning storm and he was afraid that his server had been damaged from the heat and smoke. We visited the location and unfortunately there was the overheated server with all of the companies critical data sitting on it and the owner desperate to determine if it could be saved.

Once back in the office and after running several diagnostics and transferring what we could - we were able to salvage the damaged hard drive. However, in many cases when heat, smoke and water damage a hard drive it is very difficult to restore.

This is a very sensitive mechanism and with such highly critical data we can't stress enough how important it is for every business owner to take a look at their back up devices and ask themselves ... What would happen if there was a fire, or roof leak, flood or even theft. Could we recover? Are our files stored "off location" so that we can easily retrieve them and get back to business?
